Jacques Cacheux
The history of Domaine
The origins of the Cacheux estate come from François Blée, who arrived on the scene in Vosne-Romanée in the early 1900s. François launched the domaine, but it was his son Charles who really established the family name in the village, being the régisseur at the Romanée Saint-Vivant estate in Vosne-Romanée, which was then owned by the Marey-Monge family.
The Wines
The grapes are totally destemmed and then macerated for between 8-10 days. The wines are then matured in oak, 100% new in the Premiers and Grand Crus, and are then bottled without any filtering or fining. Pascal Cacheux produces elegant, silky wines that, whilst eminently approachable when young, have the ability to age gracefully as well.
